Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Whetstone (the site at whetstonegym.com, the app at app.whetstonegym.com and the emails we send), which is run by Odyssey Capital Partners LLC (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or starting a membership you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data.

Your account

• You must be at least 18 to use Whetstone.
• You sign in with a link sent to your email, so whoever controls that inbox controls the account. Keep it secure and tell us at hello@whetstonegym.com if you think someone else has used it.
• One account per person. Don’t share an account or create extra ones to get more trials or free reps.

Memberships, trials and billing

• Your first rep is free. After that, the daily rep’s feedback and the gym need a membership.
• Each person gets one 14-day free trial. Starting it puts a card on file. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your membership starts and your card is charged on day 15. We send a reminder before that happens.
• Memberships renew automatically every month or year, depending on the plan you picked, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe.
• You can cancel any time from the billing page in the app. Your access continues to the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again. We don’t refund partial periods, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong, write to hello@whetstonegym.com and we’ll sort it out.
• Plan changes take effect right away, and any difference is prorated. If we change the price of your plan, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the change applies to you, so you can cancel first if you want to.
• If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a while. If it still doesn’t go through, the membership ends. Your reps and history stay saved.
• Unlimited is for genuine practice, with a fair-use ceiling of 30 gym reps a day. Automated use, or use on someone else’s behalf, isn’t allowed.
• Prices include any taxes we’re required to collect, unless the checkout page says otherwise.

The feedback is practice, not advice

An AI model (Anthropic’s Claude) writes Whetstone’s scores and feedback. It’s usually useful and sometimes wrong. Whetstone is a practice tool for everyday conversation. It isn’t therapy, counselling or professional advice of any kind, and it’s no substitute for them.

Your replies

What you write stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it and send it to our AI provider so we can score it, show you your history and build your Profile. We may also review replies, without your name or email attached, to check and improve the scoring. We don’t publish your replies or sell them.

Fair play

Don’t use Whetstone to:

• break the law, or harass or threaten anyone;
• submit content meant to manipulate the scoring model or pull out its instructions;
• scrape the drills, prompts or feedback, or resell access;
• probe, overload or get around the service’s security or limits.

If you do, we may suspend or close your account.

Our content

The drills, prompts, personas, scenes and everything else we’ve written belong to us. Use them for your own practice. Don’t copy them into another product.

Closing your account

To delete your account, write to hello@whetstonegym.com. We’ll cancel any membership and delete your data as the Privacy Policy describes. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and if we close yours for any other reason, we refund the unused part of your current period.

Disclaimers and liability

Whetstone is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or that it will improve any particular conversation. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law doesn’t let us limit.

Changes and the law

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top, and for material changes we’ll email members before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
