Privacy Policy

Odyssey Capital Partners LLC (“we”) runs Whetstone. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, the app and our emails, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We collect only what the product needs, and we don’t sell personal data.

What we collect

• Your email address, to sign you in, put you on the waitlist, and send the morning rep email, account emails and billing emails.
• Your replies to drills, with the scores and feedback they get, your levels, streak, XP and Profile write-ups.
• Basic settings, such as your time zone (so “today” means your today) and your email preferences.
• Membership details: your plan, its status and renewal dates, and a Stripe customer ID. Stripe handles your card number. We never see or store it.
• Usage events, such as signing in, submitting a rep and a rep being scored. We use these to count sign-ups and see whether people come back.
• Emails you send us at our addresses. We keep the raw copy for 30 days so we can reply.

Who processes it for us

• Amazon Web Services hosts the app and the database in the United States and sends our email.
• Anthropic scores your replies. Each reply is sent to Anthropic’s API with the drill it answers. Your email address is not sent. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, API inputs aren’t used to train its models.
• Stripe runs checkout, billing and the billing portal under its own privacy policy.
• Google Analytics measures traffic on the site and the app. In the app it gets a random internal ID, never your email.

How we use it

• to run Whetstone: serve reps, score them, track your progress, and handle your membership;
• to send the emails you’ve signed up for (every marketing and reminder email has a one-click unsubscribe);
• to check and improve the drills and the scoring, reviewing replies without your name or email attached;
• to keep the service secure and prevent abuse, such as repeat free trials.

Cookies

The app sets one cookie to keep you signed in. It lasts 30 days from your last visit. Google Analytics sets its own cookies on the site and the app. You can block them with your browser or an ad blocker, and Whetstone works the same without them.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while you have an account. When you ask us to delete it, we delete your account, your replies and your scores within 30 days. Billing records stay with Stripe for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Raw copies of emails you send us are deleted after 30 days.

Your choices and rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. Write to hello@whetstonegym.com from the address on your account. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, the UK or California), the law may give you further rights, such as objecting to some processing or complaining to your data protection authority. We’ll honour them. You can stop the morning email from the link at the bottom of any email.

Children

Whetstone is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top, and for material changes we’ll email you first. The Terms of Service cover the rest of our arrangement.
